Welcome to the Hiawathaland Trail Association!
For more than a decade the Sportsmen's Off Road Vehicle Associations
(SORVA) of Delta and Alger Counties, along with the Schoolcraft Motorized
Trail Association (SCMTA), have been successfully working together along
with the Michigan DNR and National Forest Service on common goals in ORV
Education and Trail Development.
As time has progressed it has become more and more important to develop trails as multi-use (ATV, UTV, Motorcycle, 4x4, Snowmobile, Equine, etc) not only economically but with state and federal approval and designation as well. As charter members, Alger SORVA, Delta SORVA, SCMTA (Schoolcraft) and TEAM (Marquette) have formed the Hiawathaland Trail Association. The succesful goal is to pull together our reasources and have a larger, efficient and well coordinated voice in trail conservation and development.
Our current, major project is focusing here in the Western Hiawatha National Forest, closing gaps in the central part of a U.P. wide, multi-use destination trail system. We are not limiting work only to this part of Michigan and have started assisting interested parties in the Eastern U.P. with trail development projects.
We welcome any individual or association that has similar goals in multi-use trail systems. To become an important part of multi-use trail conservation and development join us in our endeavor.
